preparation of sub numbers between auto serial numbers / numerals

@ Dear All,

While preparing the Bill of Quantity (BOQ) for tender documents, I find a query to be sorted out. (please see attached file). it is in tabular format although it is in word document. Here, there are different headings for eg from A to P. Under A to P, sub headings like A.01, A.02, A.03, B.01, B.02, B3 are appearing as sections. Then value to be written against headings for the grand summary.

In excel, we have many functions to generate the Srl auto numbers like 1,2,3, ABCD, etc. In MS word, it is possible with formats +bullets and numbering.

Is it possible to generate such numbering system, with alphabets/numerals in excel ?

Please help me out.

Try with:
="G."&TEXT(ROW(),"00")
in cell A1 and copy down as required.

If alphanumeric u want then if manually you write abcd1 , and abcd2 in next row ,below it ... Then select both cells & drag down You shall get increase series of nos. such as abcd1 , abcd2, abcd3, abcd4 etc.
Second option : Home tab-Editing--Fill -- series.
