I have an excel table with 4 columns:
date
item
category
cost
There is 1 row per record, some dates occur once, others several times.
From this I have created a pivot table with
date in columns
category & item in rows
cost in values
The dates are grouped by month
Instead of an end column with Grand Total sums I want an end column with averages for the period (currently Jan-Mar) for each row, and the average should be based on the number of months and NOT on the number of records in the period. Excel uses the number of records in the period.
How can I add that end column based on my required averages, and have that column be part of the pivot table? I currently have a column separated from the pivot table to give me the averages.
