Pivot table - Pivot text data

Is there a way to Pivot text fields within the values area


the data consist of below column.

Date|Product|Market|ProductionLine|Qty

01/11|Apples|USA|Line1|100

01/11|Orange|USA|Line2|100

02/11|Apples|USA|Line1|100

02/11|Orange|USA|Line2|100


I need to pivot to show

Date in row area

ProductionLine in column area

summary area to Product, market & qty for each productionline


If i put the product,market in the row area, the pivot table becomes very long.

You can place Product & Market in report filters. That will reduce the report size.

The output is a production plan. at a glance the user much be able to see what product/market is being produced on a particular date/line.

Hi,


In row lable put date, in column labels productionline,product,market and in values sum of qty.

And moreover you can change the report layout under design mode.

Hi Bluetaurean,


Put Date in Row Lables. Productline, Market and Product in Column Lables and Sum of Quantity in values.


Now, on Pivot Table you will see Line1 Total in column, right click on that and remove check from Subtotal "Productline" and then right click on USA Total and remove check from Subtotal "Market". Thus, I think you will get what you wanted.


You will get the below format of Pivot Table.


Quantity Production Line

Line1 Line2 Grand Total

USA USA

Row Labels Apples Orange

11-Jan 100 100 200

11-Feb 100 100 200

Grand Total 200 200 400

Hello,


I have attached a file of the desired output. this is sample data. in reality there are 12 line and 100+proudcts. As you will see the pivot table output is very elaborated. A sheet is attached to show the desired output.
