Pivot Table loses Custom Sort Order when saved

I have a Pivot Table in Excel 2010 on which I have sorted one column with a Custom List:

Jan-2008
Feb-2008
[..]
Nov-2025
Dec-2025

This works fine until I save the workbook.

When I re-open the workbook after saving and refreshing the Pivot Table, it is no longer sorted by the Custom List. When I check the More Sort Options > More Options, it has gone back to the default of No Calculation.

The "Sort automatically every time the report is updated" is not ticked.

Is it possible to have the pivot table always use this custom sort?

sorry, should have mentioned that in original post. I do have that option ticked.
