Pivot Placement - Create pivot To remote workbook

This is a question I've had myself and others have asked me, and I've never found a good solution. Here's the problem, as succinctly as I can put it:

In workbook A, I have a sheet, "MyData". I want to create a pivot from this data, and place it in Workbook B, in (1) a new worksheet, "MyPivot", or (2)an existing blank worksheet, "MyDest", or (3) an existing used worksheet,"MyOldStuff", under/above/to the side of my existing data.

I know I can do all of the above by creating the pivot in Workbook A then copying to any of the above, but is there a way to actually create the pivot in those locations?

Any help on this subject is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

John

Sure thing. When you go to create the PivotTable, and the wizard asks where to place the PivotTable, your choices are "New Worksheet" or "Existng Worksheet". Select the Existing worksheet option and then naviagate to Workbook B, sheet and cell location of your choice. This should create and address similar to:

[Workbook B.xls]MyDest!$A$1
