Percentage Question: Issue is getting different values

Skipper John

New Member
I am getting different values, in the hundredths, when using two methods to calculate percentages. I want to have a template worksheet that is formula-based. So, when I use the formula =cell name/cell name; there is difference in values, again in the hundreds and thousands, between the formula =value/value. Both cells are formatted to number, 2 decimal points, percentage.

What is going on here?

I have already done the simple look for values that are sneaking in and software updates. I am using mac:eek:ffice 2008

This would be easier to figure out if you posted the values and formulas you are using.

Hi Deepak B.L,

Please don't cross post!!

This is your second post on this so take time to read the green sticky posts (4th one particularly) before posting.

@Skipper John,

Welcome to the forums and upload a sample file!! You can find more regarding how to upload file from the green sticky posts on forums home page. :)

Regards,

I think because the formatting is cutting off some digits, one equation uses the displayed value while another uses the true value.

To verify this, copy your formatted cells and paste special: values.

Hi, Skipper John!

If you uploaded a sample file... or if at least you pasted here the involved formulas...

Regards!
