I have a forecasting program in Excel that will be installed at 200 different sites. A consolidated forecast will roll up all 200 entities. There are certain disadvantages inherent in this approach, including version control, local settings, potential to "break" files, name-saving conventions, and the ability to share and access the program from anywhere, on any device.
I've been investigating using Office 365 to get this program on the Web, where it could be accessed through any browser. Possibly Sharepoint could aid in collaboration here as well. My workbooks have checkbox form controls, macros, and conditional formatting.
But apparently the Web version of Excel is a simple, basic version. It can't handle some of the features above, but Microsoft is sketchy about what Office 365 can't do that the desktop version can. Does anyone have experience in this area?
