I'm so glad I came across this forum, in looking at other posts, I didn't see any questions related to my issue.
I have to start a monthly trend of top 3 incidents, and my chart always has gaps.
See attachment
RD tab is Raw Data
My wishlist would be this.
1.) Am I using incorrect RawData format in order to achieve no gaps in remove spacing graph! tab?
2.) Want to Chart top reported incident for each individual month, then 2nd, then third.

Need ideas/help. Thank you for your help.

hi Kris, and welcome to the forum! :awesome:

You're RD tab has sufficient information, but we don't quite need all the columns. You can use the PivotTable to filter down to Top 3, and the layout of the PT will let us remove the spaces. By sorting the data in descending order, you can make it so that the top incident is always on the left in your chart.

Apologies for the vagueness of my Post Title. Will keep this in mind on all future posts. Luke - you are a godsend! Thank you for taking the time to explain and offer help, I'd had a feeling my RD was messing me up!
To go one step further for betterment of chart itself - Is there a way within the chart to connect the 3 columns that represent 1 month and keep a space between months?
Thank you!
Kris

I don't think so, at least not if you want to keep the labels showing what actual item is (e.g., Email, VPN).

Would need to make 3 series of Top 1, Top 2, Top 3, and then you could format each set of bars...but then I don't know how you would tie in the label.

Or, if we can somehow get away from the PivotTable, we might have more options...but the current layout is certainly the easiest.

Or, if you've got time on your hands, can manually format each bar to be a set color. Painful, but if this is a rare chart to make for a snazzy presentation or something, could be nice.
