need to count blank cell value

Hi,

I am trying to count a cell value and using "COUNTA" function , though cell is empty but it is giving me value as 1, reason being I have used a formula in this cell and if I used "COUNT" then it giving me value 0 but no in that case where my my cell contains a formula "#"....COUNT formula is not taking it as value 1 because count formula only counts numbers...but I want # to be counted.


Please suggest any formula in this case.

I have a formula in cell C3...If I use count formula it gives me 0..
if I use counta it gives me 1...which is wrong...
if my formula gives me value as "#"in D3 then count function will give 0..

I want one function which gives me 0 if there function gives me nothing in cell C3 and if # then give me 1 like D3..
