Need help with a line graph

Hi All,

First time accessing this new version of the forum and happy to find that we can upload sample data now. It will help a lot in my future posts. Thank you so much Chandoo:)

I was reading a topic on google (link : http://lilt.ilstu.edu/gmklass/pos138/datadisplay/sections/goodcharts.htm) and found an interesting problem. There is a solution given to it but unable to get it. Also, unable to find the tool mentioned in it.

The problem that I am discussing is related to Line Graphs and mentioned in the bottom of the above metioned link.

Please help me understand the solution of it.

Thank you :)

Hi Faseeh,

I am unable to understand the solution given in the last paragraph of the page for the line graph. I have also attached a file with the related pictures. I hope this will help to understand the issue.

Thanks

Hi Faseeh,

I think the file that I tried to upload was discareded by system (I am working on my office system). Please read the last paragraph in the page by accessing the link I provided in my 1st post.

Thanks

Hi Dheeraj,
As there are several paragraphs in that article, and I'm not quite sure where one section ends, could you either quote(copy/paste) the section that you had questions about, or download the relevant XL file (by clicking on the appropriate Figure) and upload it here?

Would it not have been easier for you to fix my post with your moderator capabilities rather than posting yet another post on Chandoo. It staggers me at times the amount of superfluous over posting that goes on at this forum. Good moderation is about knowing when to add a voice and knowing when to just leave out. I would have corrected it and moved on with no one the wiser. I guess we roll differently.

Hi!

First of all thank you for you comments, interesting, I'll analyze them and keep in mind the conclusions and the main spirit.

The issue wasn't only at your post which I have the authority to edit (and that I'd have edited and signed/notified the poster in the same post as I usually do) but actually besides at your link it primarily at the link where it pointed to, that of the mentioned forum, for which only administrators and not moderators have write access. So fixing your post won't solve anything but one reference, being the main link still wrong.

And yes, we roll differently. But it's all fine for me, and I hope for you too.

Regards!

PS: Just fyi, I immediately started a conversation with Hui telling him about the problem and it was solved as soon as he read it and had the chance to fix it a few hours after your post and my immediate notification. Once he did so, then there I felt relieved and forgot about the issue since a problem that affected all the community (and specially the new members whom we all must guide, take care of and preserve of inconveniences). My scope wasn't a single post with a bad posted link, unchecked when posted BTW (*), but instead a common link that affected everybody. And yes we roll differently.

Hi!
:)
Regards!

EDITED

PS: And please don't ask what I've been trying to do between 12:31 and 12:44, apart from cursing in several arcane languages... until I gave up (after reading an error/warning line at the bottom of the forum) :(
