Need a number to always be interpreted with 2 decimals

Hello to all my Excellent Educators of Excell!

I am having trouble getting a cell to be interpreted correctly. The cell has a number in it. The number could have no, one or two decimals (i.e. 98 or 98.5 or 98.75). How can I get excel to always interpret what is in that cell as being a number (or a text value...it doesn't matter) having 2 decimal places?

The number is being used as part of a concatenation with other cells, and the output is an identifier for getting data from a database. The identifier needs to have the number represented with2 decimal places. For example: in one cell is a month number (i.e. 7), a second cell has a day number (i.e. 22), and a third cell has a price (i.e. $98).

So if I concatenate: =("M:"&month&" "&"D:"&day&" "&price) the result reads M:7 D:22 98
I want the result to be M:7 D:22 98.00

I could just add on a ".00" to the formula but then the formula will not output correctly if the price is 98.5 or 98.75.

Can someone teach me how to get around this issue?

Thanks....I am still learning and thus,
