Match product and name

Thomas Kuriakose

Respected Sirs,

We have a training data which has names and the corresponding skill in a product.

In the mapping tab we need to match the names with the assigned product in reference to the training data and propose the correct name.

Kindly find attached the sample data with required result.

Thank you very much for your guidance and support always,

with regards,
thomas

A complex solution based upon my interpretation of your requirement.
When the person does not match the spec, I have cycled the search to the next person that does, returning to the start of the list if required. An 'over the top' implementation but it entertained me for a while:)!

Hi Thomas
This is over my head
The workbook I provided should enable you to confirm that I have interpreted your requirements correctly. If so, I could help you so far in that I could remove the nesting of formulas implemented through the use of named formulas and, instead, use helper fields in the first table.

If you need to go further and employ direct cell references of the type A1, then I am not the right person to assist you. I never use them and I am not fluent in the techniques used to navigate a workbook built in such a manner.

p.s. I have noticed and corrected an error in the workbook I provided in that
MOD(number, divisor) returns zero when number=divisor. I should have used
1+MOD(number-1,divisor).

Respected Sir,

Thank you very much for our support on this query.

Yes, your interpretation was spot on.

Thank you for the correction and would be glad to learn the use of helper formulas in this case.

Much appreciated,

with regards,
thomas
