Many ribbon features not available (grayed out), and undo feature not working

Hi,

So sorry! I figured out the answer to my own question. Can this post be deleted?

What can cause regular ribbon features to not be available for use, and the Undo feature to not work?

I did not notice this until I wanted to use the "remove duplicates" feature, but it is grayed out (not clickable). Interestingly, in the same Data Tools section of the ribbon, Consolidate and What-If Analysis is available.

On the Home tab, the only feature available in the Font section is font type and size, but not bold, Italicize, or Underline. Neither are borders, or colors. Nothing in the alignment, Number or Styles sections is available. Almost all features in the Cells and Editing sections is available.

I won't keep going with telling you what is available and what is not, because I am sure you get the idea. What could be going on? The problem is only in one workbook (with only one sheet).

Any ideas would be great!

Add a new sheet in that workbook & see what happened. That worksheet might locked.
Still issue, can we have the same for investigation.

Hi Deepak,

You are correct. The sheet was locked. And ... this is embarrassing, but I am the one who locked it!! The problem is that I have never locked a worksheet before, and I did not know that all of those features would be disabled. After I figured out what happened, I also figured out how to lock only the cells with formulas, and still allow users the functionality of the Ribbon features for the other cells.
