managing data base

i am maintaining a data base which is enlisted in an excel sheet. Each row of the excel sheet represents a document which is placed in another document. A column in the data sheet has hyperlinks linked to each of the documents(where PDF is awailable, otherwise it only indicates the id of the physical document). The sheet has abot 20 filed and rows and the size of the sheet has crossed 6 MB.

Will i be able to continue with the system?
 
I don't know. Doesn't sound like it though.


What is going on where 20 hyperlinks have it at 6 megs?
