Logic for Incremental Counter

Hi !

I want to develop a logic in which , the value in column I of the attached sheet - should change automatically if there is a duplicate value in column D.

Requirement is explained in details in the Excel Sheet attached herewith.

Enter :

=COUNTIF(D$3:D3,D3)

in I3 , and copy down.

Hi ,

I am not able to understand what the desired output should be ; can you manually indicate what the output should be ?

Instead of the COUNTIF function , we can probably use the COUNTIFS function , which will include the part number and the supplier.
