Lock aspect ratio in Excel 2010

In general for an object say straight line there is a property in Excel to lock the aspect ratio so that after locking the aspect ratio even if we drag/ stretch the lines it will be straight line and it will not bend but this option is shown as hided in excel 2010

Please advise how to get this option for general staright line/ arrow head etc

Hi, nagovind!

Give a look at this file:

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/60558749/Lock%20aspect%20ratio%20in%20Excel%202010%20%28for%20nagovind%20at%20chandoo.org%29.xlsx

There you'll find a straight line, a line with an arrow head, and the shape of an arrow.

They're locked so try changing cell sizes and check they'll remain as initially.

Try selecting the three objects, Size And Properties or Object Format, then Properties, Properties again, and set the third radio button to on: Don't move nor change size with cells.

Thanks for your reply

However my query is as below

In earlier version of excel 2003

If we want to draw a straight line....after drawing the line after right clicking the format object there is property called 'Lock aspect ratio' after selecting this option if we try to drag the line it can be possible to stretch the line in same direction without any bends i mean in th straight line

But in Excel 2010 after drawing an line and after selecting the format object and go to 'Size' option the Lock aspect ratio is hidden in view of this it is very difficult to DRAW A PRECISE STRAIGHT LINE

If you draw a straight line actually it not 100% in 180 deg it is slightly deviating from its path if we drag it

how to resolve this

please advise

thanks

Hi, nagovind!

I'm afraid there's nothing you could do to change the actual version behavior.
