Apparently Excel recognizes blank cells with formatting as not being blank. So to make my spreadsheet more efficient, I wanted to locate and clear out any of these cells below my table of data.
I did Ctrl + End to locate the last cell, which was cell AH40512. Then I selected all cells above that last cell and below my table, the did Clear --> Clear All.
Then I did Ctrl + End again to test this, and Excel still jumps to cell AH40512. So it appears as though doing Clear All did not wipe out all these blank cells with formatting which is below my table of data.
1. Why didn't this work?
2. How can you tell if a blank cell has any formatting applied to it at all? Is there a formula or keyboard shortcut?
