Linking two workbooks

I have linked two workbooks say Book1 & book2 . Book2 get figures from book 1. Both books are for same customer. In book 1 I/user fill the figures. These workbooks are say format / templates i.e whenever i need to enter data in book 1 I have to save it & rename it depending upon customers name. Same thing for book 2 . I have 100's of customers & everyone has different data. When i save & rename The linking references are old & hence the new workbook 2 do not get data from new workbook 1.

How should i link both books after renaming it. There are many rows & columns linked in book 2 from book 1.
 
Open both workbooks at the same time, and then do the Save - As. When the workbooks are open, they'll be able to follow the name change.
 
It was so simple. Thanks!!

I hope it does not mess up my figures & calculations. My book 1 has many calculations & formulae.
