Linked Workbooks with Formulas

So I'm trying to pull reports in one huge report workbook. I'm using a simple formula to count rows and if one row is greater than the other then a 'triangle' and if it's lesser than an 'upside down triangle' and if it's the same a black 'circle'.

When the formula is placed in the same workbook as the data it works pefectly.

As soon as i put the same formula in a blank workbook and link the data from the original workbook I get a #value error. Why?

Please help.

There is missing path to data-file!

At first I was like ... I'm looking at the path. Then I did exactly what you said and it worked. lol I don't know what I was doing wrong, but I got it working now.

Thank you. Sometimes you got to say it again slower and louder for people to get it.

@RTowles
If You make formulas to external file then it is 'easier' to make those then that external file is open - okay?
'just make links... using that file' - okay?
Then Your master-file knows that those links are from that file - okay?
Then You close that external file then Your master-file saves 'path to that external-file' too. ... as You maybe notice - okay?
Without that path-information, Your master-file 'just cannot find Your external-file' ... it is like missing - okay?
This would be same as if You talk to Your friend face-to-face and next day You continue talking ... but Your friend won't be near You ... no problem ... You could phone to Your friend ... if You know friend's number (path) ... and then You can continue talking - okay? Without number (path) ... talking won't work before Your friend would be near enough...
Okay?
