Issue with Data Validation

Hi,

I am trying to use Data Validation option in excel to restrict duplicate entry under Column C. I have used the steps below to configure the same:

Data Validation > Settings > Custom > Forumla

=Countif($C$10:$C$572, C10)=1

Where in C10 is the first entry of the Ticket Number & Under Error Alert I have selected the Style as "STOP" and provided Title to it.

But unfortunately, this does not seems to be working. Because, when I entry the C10 value to 3 & C11 = 4 & C5 =3, it does not throw an error alert.

Is there something which I am missing? Please suggest me on this.

Thanks in Advance for you help!

Regards,
PraveenK

Hi, PraaenKagitalal!

As a new user you might want to (I'd say should and must) read this:
http://chandoo.org/forum/forums/new-users-please-start-here.14/

And regarding your issue...

(bold is mine)

Cell C5 is out of the counting range.

Regards!
