Is this possible?

I work at a trucking company. We have spread sheets the manager has been filling out by hand. There are sheets labeled 100's thru 700's which represent the days of the week.
There is a drivers sheet that he wants the cells labeled MON THRU SUN to automagically highlight from the daily sheets on the days they are out and be blank on the days they are available.
The day sheets do have the information that can be transferred via VLOOKUP, but I don't know if it is possible to automagically highlight the days they are gone.
I am uploading a sample file if someone gets a chance to look at it.
Thanks, Clay

Hi Clay ,

Can you be more specific ?

The range of cells E2:K48 is already colored with a lot of colours ; which cells do you want highlighted ?

Can you take one example of a driver who is out on at least 2 days , and indicate which cells will be highlighted , and in what colours ?

Thank you for the reply, Yes he has been coloring, doing that manually. It could just be highlight in the standard yellow. The goal is to see what days the driver will be available. So on the day sheets we put in the return day. The dispatch time is the time they leave. On the 100's sheet which is loads typically going out on Mondays.
BELL at the top is gone for 2 days, so on the driver sheet is would need to list the route number 180 on Monday and then highlight through Wednesday. Referencing the info from the 100's sheet.

Hi ,

Some more doubts :

1. Can a driver have multiple entries , both on the same sheet , and across sheets ?

2. The Dispatch Time and Return Time are in columns G and H on all sheets except one where the columns are J and K ; this is bound to create problems ; how do we resolve this ?

3. On the day sheets you have multiple drivers in a cell , whereas on the Drivers tab , there is only one driver to a cell ; this is also bound to complicate matters.

All in all , I can say that the basic worksheet structure is not at all amenable to simple Excel formulae ; a complete redesign will be required. Is this possible ?

If yes , then a detailed description of what the application must do , what will be the inputs , and what kind of data processing will be involved needs to be drafted before any progress can be made.

Thank You Narayan for taking a look. A driver will not be listed twice on the same sheet, they will be listed again on other days. I will work on the sheets to get them organized. Some times drivers are training which is why two are listed at times. I could use another row with the same info duplicated for those. I have been making changes in order to use vlookup, so when I get it in order will upload the new design.
Thanks, Clay
