Intersection between two curves?

Dimitrios

New Member
Hi everybody,

In a chart I charted two Normal curves. They have an intersection. How can I calculate the x-axis value of this point?

Best Regards to all,

Dimitrios from Athens/Greece

Hi Dimitrios ,

The Newton-Raphson method can be used , but I think this is a more approximate solution.

What I have done is used an X-Y chart only for the intersection point so that you can zoom in on it and find out the X and Y values.

Hi Narayan,

Thank you for your effort to help in my question.

Even your suggestion is an aproximate solution, I inspired an idea and elaborated a solution, that, unfortunately, it sometimes does work well and sometimes it doesn't.

I present it in the atteched file. Can you or any other member optimise it?

I hope a beatiful day to all of you.

Hi Dimitrios ,

My point in presenting a graphical solution was that you could use the format axis feature to zoom in to any degree and get the most accurate value for the intersection.

See the attached file.

Hi Narayan,

OK, I understand your solution. Of course it is helpful, simply I lose in automation ...

Anyway, I thank you once again.
