I need to insert multiple rows in all the sheets of an excel file. I've tried using the Grouping sheets option, but that's working only for formatting and not for insertion of rows / columns.

and welcome to the forum if you have not already done so, please read this link posted by Chandoo as it will help you in the use of the forum.
Inserting rows into multiple sheets does work....select all sheets (right click tab) then go to first sheet right click on the row above where you want the insertion and click insert/row.
