Inserting a signature into Excel worksheet

I am working with Excel 2007. I have created a worksheet which requires a signature to be embedded at the appropriate place. I can insert a signature in .jpg or .bmp format into a spare area of the worksheet but I then have two problems..

1. When I move the image to the area where the signature needs to be placed , the image blocks out the underlying text.

2. I cannot always format the image so as to ‘Send to back’ or ‘Send to front’. Clicking on the image , I can sometimes activate the Format options but at other times , they are disabled.

Can anyone help ?

Typically, I enforce specific image size/dimension and encoding, and prefer to use jpg/png since those are smaller than bmp.

As well, set image object to size and move with cell. Keeping original ratio.

Text. Should not be in same cell where image resides. Just set cell below the image to hold text.

Edit: Send back/forward is usually only available if you have more than one shape/object(s).
