Incorrect Importing from text file

Hi Guys,

I’m trying to import a text file into PP. However, I does not import all the rows. The file has 176,000 rows, but PP only imports 126k.

I noticed that the uploading speed dramatically decreases when it gets to 120 k rows.

What could be happening?

Attached is a sample file of the text file, and how it looks on the spreadsheet.

Regards,

Fernando

Hmm, it's well under row limit of PowerPivot.
But when I tested loading it directly into data model. It had issues.

Try using PowerQuery to make connection. PowerQuery is more efficient at importing external data than default PowerPivot option.

This will load the data directly into Data Model for Power Pivot.

Hi Chihiro,

Importing directly from the Server was not an option.

I found a quick dirty trick, however.

I imported the text file into Access, and then made a connection to that databse through PowerPivot.

It seems to work.

Thanks!

Fernando
