hyperlinks

Hello all,

I have a nasty problem which annoys me a lot. When I try to open hyperlinks in excel 2010 I get this message: The operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer >>>

Has anyone got a solution for this problem, please?

Hi, ahhhmed!

As it seems as if b(ut)ob(ut)hc has been sunken in a Carlsberg swimming pool (in the search of the mentioned link, of course), I found those other related links that might help you:

Good day SirJB7

Hi, old dog!

Good afternoon, my friend. I see you could come back from your deep dive into Debraj Roy's state-of-the-art PC hardware.

Regards!

Thanks both of you. But the problem is not solved . I know the links you provided me before but they are about Outlook and Internet hyperlinks that do not work. My problem is far away from the Internet. It is that the hyperlink in my Excel 2010 workbook do not work, althoough they used to work before.

They stopped working after I copied my workbook onto a portable HDD and opened it on another computer. When I wanted to open it from the HDD on my original computer, I had this problem.

Goo day ahhhmed

If your original hyperlinks where to files on your computer then when you copied your workbook to the HDD then the links would be broken/lost and when you tried to run the workbook on the second machine the same would happen, you would have to copy the files/folders along with the work book and then you would have problems as the hyperlink would still have a different address and you would have to reset all hyperlinks to point to the new directory/folder.

For this reason all workbooks I create in our organisation (I use the word loosely) use links/workbooks saved on a central server

If the hyperlinks are all in the workbook then they should still be working.

If not you could try the Edit Links feature to update the hyperlink address.
