"This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. please contact your system administrator."

It sounds like a security issue, probably related to firewall or network policies. Did it work before or it's a new workbook?

Can you please type the hyperlink formula?

Other point of interest would be what the hyperlinkw as trying to get to. Another place in the workbook, another workbook, another file, a internet site, etc.
