How to use the Indirect function to pull from two different cells to create a cell reference

I need to know the proper syntax to use the indirect function to create a cell reference from two different cells. For example- one cell will name the column, and another cell will name the row. I want a third cell to pull these together into a cell reference. I tried =Indirect(A3&A4), but it returned an error rather than what I wanted. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you!

Gary

Hi Gary,

I'm assuming that value displayed in A3 is a letter(s), like: C
and value in A4 is a number like: 45

That should give correct output. IF you are looking at a different sheet/workbook, or is A3 has a number, then we'll need to add some more stuff to the formula.

Can you paste a screenshot of what you have, or a workbook?

Actually I think I have it working now. For some reason I had to put $absolute markers in the indirect cell reference. Thank you for your response.
