how to make a cell containingData Validation list a compulsory field

i have a data validated list in a protected sheet in 5 cells A6, B6, C6, D6, E6, F6. I want to make that cell compulsory, which means that the user cannot move to the next cell unless an item is chosen in that particular cell. how do I do it? help please.

Hi ,

When you have a DV dropdown , it is only the first time that the cell will be blank ; thereafter , the selected item will be displayed in the cell.

Do you mean to say that the selection process will happen only once ?

Since you already have data validation set up for the cells , I think the only way you can do what you want done is by using VBA. Is this acceptable ?

You are right. The cell would be blank only once. After selection it would be automatically filled. I think theres no point in making the field compulsory then. Thank you for guiding me.
