How to make 0 shown as '-' in excel?

I've been trying to figure this out on my own for a while. I've tried copying the format of where 0 is shown as '-' to where it is shown as 0, but it didn't work. I also tried the different options under Custom in Format Cells and it didn't work either.Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks!

Is it possible that it's not truly 0, but a small decimal like 0.00000001?

Hi ,

Following Luke's hint , the following format should do the job , I think.

[>0.01]#,##0.00;[<-0.01](#,##0.00);#"-";_(@_)

I have used a threshold of +/- 0.01 , within which all values will be shown as -.

Thanks everyone!

Luke is right. It's a small decimal.

Narayan, how do I get the format you suggested? Is it in Format Cells?

Right click, Format Cell(s), Number, Custom. Paste in what Narayan typed.
