How to get formula drop down in a cell

Hi All,

Recently i came across an excel file, where in there are a set of data in a column. The last cell which gives the 'total' figure has a dropdown containing names like 'sum', 'average' etc. and when you select a particular formula in the dropdown, the cell gives the required result. The drop down and the final result are in the same cell. I am not sure, how to do it. Can somebody please help in doing the same.

Hi Sahu ,

Can you clarify if it was a .xlsx file or a .xlsm file ? This can certainly be done with macros , though it is not really of such importance , since you have to go to a lot of trouble to achieve it.
