How to find same names in high to low order...

Hello...New to Excle...I have columns A to C. In raws there are all names. How can I find top 5 names repeated from the table? I try Pivot but no luck.

A B C

Charli James Smith

Smith Mike Nelson

Charli Nelson Smith

James Smith Charli


I need help to find out Smith=4 (Smith name is repeated 4 times), Charli=3, Mike=1..etc Thanks in advance.
 
Hi

You can use the COUNTIF function,


So if the data is in the range A2:C5 and you wanted to find how many times James appears and you want the answer in Cell A7


in A7 = COUNTIF(A2:C5,"James")
