Hi ,

If the data in column D is the input , why are you talking of the values in column C ? After all , what is being displayed in column C is because of the formula there.

If you convert the format of column D to General , you can see that the input data itself has many such changes ; D3:D19 shows times in increasing order , D20:D30 is another section of increasing times , D31:D47 is the third section , D48:D59 is the fourth section , and so on.

The formula in column C is bound to reflect this up and down behaviour of the data in column D.

Dear Narayana,
Its the DATA of Whole July Month, Please see the Date(column A) 1st july, 5th july, 6th July, 7th July and so on...The data is in increasing order because its the login time of the employees which starts at 4:30am and ends at 6am that is there logout..MST is followed in US.. it should be converted to IST...it doesnt matter whether MST is in D column or C column or try to put MST in column C and IST in Column D...Just convert the time from MST to IST thats it....

Hi ,

Note the following :
  • Daylight saving start: Sunday 13 March 2016 02:00 local time.
  • Daylight saving end: Sunday 6 November 2016 02:00 local time.
At present it is MDT , and not MST , where MDT is Mountain Daylight Saving Time.

MDT is GMT - 6:00 , whereas IST is GMT + 5:30 , which means the difference is 11:30 hrs , to be added to MDT.

Since your data includes all sorts of times , adding 11:30 hrs to these times can result in a change of date also.

Thus , the formula to be applied would be :

=INT(A3 + D3 + "11:30")

to get the IST date , and :

=A3 + D3 + "11:30" - (INT(A3 + D3 + "11:30")

to get the IST time.

See the attached file.
