How to Align Data Label

PSG

With reference to http://chandoo.org/wp/2008/09/09/excel-speedometer-chart-download/ I would like to know, how can I make adjustment for data label in such way that it move with the pie chart? As in this example it is moving with the speedometer hand created using a pie chart.

Thanks in Advance!

Purely curious, why wouldn't you want the label associated with the dial? Isn't that the single point of into you're interested in?

Alternatively, if you read the first few comments from that post, you'll see Jon Peltier and Chandoo's discussion commenting how dial gauges really aren't that good 99% of the time. I'd recommend reading Jon's article here (it's fairly short)

Or even here, which shows how to present a gauge-over-time chart:

Additionally, post #9 seems to show how to combine the 2 graphs, thus making it easier to accomplish the goal you asked about:

Actually, you do not need to create a separate pie chart. You can simply add the second table (Gauge Value,1, 200-(Gauge Value+1)) as a new series on the doughnut chart, and change the chart type to pie chart."

Luke I want know how Chandoo has associated the label with the dail. I am trying but is not moving with the dial. Please help!

The dial is really just one slice of a pie chart. To get the label, select the portion of the pie chart, format, add data label. As the dial is moved, the label will move.

But the problem is that dial represent the value 1, while in the gauge we want the Gauge Value to be associated with it!

I am having problem aligning both together.... :(

Click on the data label, type "=", and then click on whatever cell in your worksheet displays the value you want to show. Press Enter.

In essence, any data label is similar to a text box in that you can dynamically link it to a cell.

Thank you Luke!

Must say you're also awesome!

Either there some prb with my connection or don't know what my post are getting duplicated....

Please bear with me........ really sorry again
