How do I merge data from 2 spreadsheets into 1

Hi

Firstly thank you experts for taking the time to answer peoples questions. It is greatly appreciated.

I have 2 spreadsheets with different data that I would like to merge into 1.

Basically i use these spreadsheets for my Fantasy Football hobby .

I have one spreadsheet with a master list of 1500 players with various columns of data.
I have another spreadsheet with 200 players (all of whom are in the first sheet) with more data.

I would like to bring the data from sheet 2 into my master sheet 1 but i have no idea how to get sheet 1 to recognise the data I am trying to import and add it to the correct player.

I hope i have made sense .
 
This is an often asked question, have you used the search box top right, it does work, if you find something close to what you want then it can be altered by asking the question.

I have tried the search function but quite honestly it is completely over my head. I dont even know where to start after reading some of the posts in the search.
 
Simplisticly (as an example) this is what i am trying to achieve.

In sheet 1 : I have 5 names and their ages . Bob 5 Bill 6 Jim 7 David 8 Peter 10
In sheet 2 : I have 3 names and their favourite color : Bob Blue , Jim Red , and Peter Green

I would like to bring all the data into one sheet so i would have a sheet in this instance with Names, Ages and Favourite Colour. (2 of the names would only have ages )
