if A1 references a cell in another sheet, what formula in B1 would tell me what cell it is referencing. ie A1 = sheet 2 D1. what formula would I write in B1 to tell me that A1 reference a value in sheet2 D1? thx

I'm not sure how. I have a formula in A1 =sheet 2 D1. the answer is blackberry. I would like a formula in B1 to tell A1= sheet 2 D1 not blackberry. any help is appreciated

the issue is I have many sheets that the master sheet would refer too. I would like the formulas in Sheet1 Row 9 be based on the location where A9 refers. Column A can refer to a number of different sheets I would like the formulas in the balance of the respective row to get data and calculate based upon where column A refers. I have shown blackberry and BMO as two examples from different sheets. the formulas in the rows in the master sheet are different depending on the where the blackberry or BMO data is fetched. I currently cut and past a row of formulas based on where the cell in column A refers. If I can use a formula in the master sheet to tell me which sheet and what row column A started I could automatically populate sheet.

Thanks
