Hidden column still showing up in chart

I have a pivot table with sales for 2 years and budgets for 2 years. When I chart it, I don't want the budget for last year to show up. So I hid that column. When I create the chart, the budget shows up for the hidden column. I thought the default was to hide them from the chart.

I'll appreciate ideas. Thanks, Cindy

in the pivotChart, all you need to do is add the Year field to the Report Field and then filter that field to just show the desired year.

depending on how you have the pivotTable layout, you may be able to just simply apply the filter in its current location (as row lables or as column labels)

jason is correct, but further explanation is that while you are correct that regular charts default to not showing hidden data, the PivotChart has its own set of rules. =/
