I have two databases called as Spear and Tiger(Master File). File contains the following:

Client Name

Position number(from 1 to 100){Position number is a kind of code differentiating various kinds of loans}.

Reference number

Face Value

Starting Date

Maturity Date


What I need to perform is, compare the spear file from Master file(Tiger), presently am using Vlookup function. But every month, there will be new positions or new customers. Some time same customer will have new position but same reference number. Can I try doing this reconciliation using pivot table or is there any other way to do this. I want to know each client name is appearing in Spear file comparing to Tiger. What can be the best way in excel to do this performance. Appreciate your kind assistance on this..
