Help Requested on Pivot Table Excel 2003

Hi there,
I have just joined up after using this website to solve my excel questions for some time. I have a pivot table question and would be very grateful for a steer in the right direction.

The attached Excel 2003 spreadsheet shows the pivot table I get by choosing layout options in the pivot table wizard (options shown ) and beside this I have laid out the pivot table I want. Try as I may I just can't get the data in the format I require.

Anyone's help would be much appreciated.

Hi Rosemary,

Please check the Pivot Table sheet. I don't have 2003 installed on my system however you can play by dragging & drop the fields till you find the format that suits best.

I have pasted the snapshot of my pivot table layout for your reference.

Thanks Ashish but despite having spent much time trying various formats I can't get what I want on Excel 2003. Maybe I should just update my excel version.

All support and updates for 2003 has finished, perhaps you should upgrade to 2013, expensive to buy the full suite but here in the UK it costs me £78 a year and thats with free upgrades and patches.

I have done as you required but there is an upload problem at the moment so I will try again later.

Have a look at the upload, was done in 2013, the compatibility report is on one of the tabs.
