Help Please-multiple criteria

Hi All,
Firstly love this site,
I am trying to derive data from the following table that is an export from a timesheet program.
I would like to sum like data by date i.e. for the 05/02/16 sum all LINE R&D hours.
There are multiple entries for each day (both rows and columns)
Your help is appreciated

I guess a pivot table can give what you are looking for.
