having the names instead of cell ranges in the formulas

Hello,

I am entering a function, but I can't select the range: A2:A89,

instead the names are getting shown.

I checked to see if I have defined name ranges, the workbook didn't have any.

How can I fix this problem?

Thanks,

GGGGG

Colin Legg,

Yes, I do have a pivot table on the source document where I want to look up my value.

Thanks,

Presumably it is automatically generating a GETPIVOTDATA() formula for you when you select the cell whilst creating your formula. You can disable this by selecting any cell in the pivot table > Options tab on the ribon > click on the Options dropdown on the left hand side > untick "Generate GetPivotData".

If that's not the solution you're looking for then please provide more information about the 'names' that are getting shown.
