Hello Team

This is more of MS PROJECT query, but i am using MS EXCEL to organize the same. Hence looking for inputs from this forum:

I have a series of around 500 tasks and these need to be completed over a period of 3 weeks. Every task has a start date and a series of dependent tasks (if any... if multiple they are separated by comma). A task can start only if its planned start date has arrived and predecessor tasks are complete. They have status - Completed / In progress / Planned / Not Ready. Status Planned refers to those tasks for which the start date has arrived but is waiting for predecessor tasks to finish. Obviously those predecessor tasks would be either in IN PROGRESS or PLANNED status for this to happen.

Problem Statement: On any given day, we want to know the TOP N tasks which are holding up maximum no of tasks.

Thanks
Km

... 2nd 'problem statement ... no ... just challenge':
Tip: Upload a Sample File to get a quicker response

Attached is a sample FILE. It contains WBS ID, status, Task name, Predecessor Tasks WBS.

Challenge is to get the count of tasks against every IN-PROGRESS tasks. The count should be equal to no of successor tasks it is holding up.
