Formula to remove / from Left trim function

Hi, **Update** I figured it out =SUBSTITUTE(LEFT(A2,3),"/","")

I know how to use the left function, but when I ask for the 3 character in some instances this can be a /, and in that case I would like to just give me the first 2 characters.

As per my example in column C
