Formula to identify the market trend?

Dear Excel Experts,

In my attached excel sheet i have added some numbers which are in the heading "High - Open" and "Low -Open". The aim is to give a formula in the trend column as of now the result i have typed manually. For each trend i have given note.

Can a formula be made as per my conditions given in the excel sheet. I tried max and min but it not giving me correct result. Do help me out all experts here.

Thanks & Regards,

Sonjoe

not following how you decide on a BUY or a SELL

If both values are -ve then you are SELL
otherwise i'm not sure what the rules are for the rest

I agree with ETAF: you should articulate the rule(s) that determine "buy" and "sell".

The following duplicates the "buy" and "sell" results in your examples:

=IF(ABS(B3)>=ABS(C3),"buy","sell")

However, my inference is premature because your example does not cover all of the combinations of conditions that I guess are relevant.

(Also, that would be a dubious strategy, IMHO.)

Here is another If function option,

The concept is: being find the max(biggest) number of "High - Open" & "Low -Open" disregarding "+-ve", and compare with the "High - Open"

=IF(MAX(ABS(B3:C3))=B3,"Buy","Sell")

Thank you Friend....this formula is working perfectly fine. All the results are correct. Thanks a lot
