formatting multiple series by a filter or legend

I have some data on missions, when they launched, from where and on what rocket. I'd like to show a histogram-like chart of those missions on the year they launched. I can do that.

The part I haven't figured out is how to make all the Atlas missions the same color, or all the Vandenburg missions the same color. I'd like to do that without having to have the launch site or vehicle be part of the series name, but I don't see how to use the filters to my advantage. The charts will be printed so nothing dynamic will help.

And, really, I'd like to get all the missions on an Atlas the same color and I'd like all the launches from Vandenburg to have, say, a blue outline color (or bigger font, or something) so that I can show both on the same chart.

Is this possible?

Bit manual, but you can select and change series colour manually. As well as Data label formats.

You can automate it a bit through use of VBA.
