Dear all,

I require your help for converting my figure in excel in Million format through Format Cells.

For e.g. the figure is 123456789.67 and I want to display the figure as 123 456 789,67 how can I do that.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Hi Shailesh ,

Does it mean :

1. Your thousands separator is the space character ?

2. Your decimal separator is the comma ?

Is this your Windows system setting also ?

Narayan

Dear Narayan,

Yes the thousand separator is space and decimal separator is comma. This is what I want as a default by formatting cell. I am not aware about windows system setting. I just want this result by only making custom settings in format cell option. Is it possible ?

Thanks & Regards,
Shailesh Pujara

Hi Shailesh,

Try using below custom format:

### ### ###.00

Go to Excel Options - Advanced - Editing options, there you can see the decimal separator and thousand separator there uncheck Use system option and put , as decimal separator.

However, this is not working. I have already done the

and also

### ### ###.00

but I am not able to get the desired result. Pls. check at your end and then share the e.g. excel file if you are able to get the desired result.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi Shailesh ,

There are 2 possibilities :

You enter the number 123456789.67 first , and then change the Excel options

You first change the Excel options , and then enter the number.

If it is the first , then select the , format ; Excel will display :

123,456,789.67

Now if you change the Excel options , Excel will display :

123 456 789,67

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If it is the second , then you have to enter the number using the comma as the decimal separator , since otherwise Excel will not recognize it as a valid number.

Thanks a lot Somendra.....ur solution worked for me.....thanks a ton....again...

However, can you just do me one favour more by just helping me to add even the currency i.e. DZD before the figure through custom settings in Format cells.
