Find / Match Position Title to get Percentage

MyCon

Member
Hi,

I have 2 tables

Table A
- Has Position Titles & Percent values to the left of position titles. This represents estimated efforts

Table B

I'm trying to match position title or type (column D of my example), then give the result in from Table A & insert in to Column H respective cell(s).

I attempted an Index / Match but it's not working for me.

For whatever reasons, I can't upload an Excel file (on an Excel forum). Perhaps, it's my work place security blocking.

Here's the basic:

Table A
5% Program Manager
70% Project Manager
60% Field Techs
50% Drafters / Designers
0% Support Engineers
0% Office Support
80% QA / QS Lead
0% QA / QS Support

Table B
Position Types
Drafters / Designers
Field Techs
Field Techs
Project Manager
Program Manager
Drafters / Designers
Drafters / Designers
Drafters / Designers

Est'd Program Effort

By "tables" do you mean you have data in an Excel Table, or a simple range?

I've tried to re-create both scenarios in the attached file...can you review and clarify where you are having a problem?

Hi Eibi,

That's pretty good re-creation!

With your example, I see how I was incorrectly referencing & therefore, getting incorrect results.

Thanks for the assistance!
