Find highest value

Hi,

I've read a few posts but can't figure it out.

I have the attached table (simplified but then I just need help to understand the principle).
I cannot change the layout of the table in rows 2-3-4-5.

But I need to find what is the max value for each items (yellow cells).
I manually entered the values expected in G9-G13
Can you please help me out?

In F9, array formula copy down :

=MAX(IF(A$2:I$5=E9,B$2:J$5))

Confirm enter with pressing Ctrl+Shift+Enter 3 keystrokes together
