filtering cells with multiple values

I am looking for a way to filter and/or create a pivot table from a column containing cells with multiple values. Example: Column A1 "Names" has many rows containing various names e.g. A1 has Jane Doe, John Doe, Sam Smith, A2 has Jane Doe, Sam Smith, Steve Allen.
I want to be able to create a list that I can then use to create a slicer to give me all the results of Jane Doe, rather than having to type in a combination of Jane Doe or listing out the entire cell contents. My end goal is to show what records can show a relationship between one name and another, but right now I would like to have a slicer with a list of names to choose from.

Hi Scarymon,

You can use data filter, go to Filter > Text Filter > Contain and then put in text that you want to filter for.

If this is not helpful, then upload sample file.

Thank you both. I am looking for a way around having to type in the name to filter. I am looking to use a slicer to do the trick. I hope the attached may help.

Hi ,

I doubt that what you want can be done ; a slicer is connected to a Pivot Table ; if a Pivot Table has concatenated values , that is what the slicer will have.

See this file for a different method.
