Filter option greyed out having locked cells

Dear all,

This should be an easy one for you

I have this sheet with data and filter on row 1.
No cell has locking set except range c2:d50

Once I protect the sheet the filter button is greyed out. Also my filter related buttons on the ribbon are grey.
I can use the filters as normal but the buttons mentioned above are unavailable.

How can I prevent this (beside removing the lock of-course)?

Hi Ronald ,

Googling this shows that the buttons cannot be enabled. The filter functionality can be used even when the sheet is protected , but toggling ON / OFF the Filter feature itself is not possible.
